Many believe Nov. 11, 2011 is an auspicious date. There were even very long lines in lotto outlets last night, with people betting the combination of numbers 11.11.11. Too many people, in fact, bet the same number combination that the lotto machines did not accept it anymore by nighttime. According to PCSO, there is a limit to the number of same combinations for one draw.
So, the big question is, “Is today really a lucky day?”
I asked Johnson Chua, a feng shui consultant, who also owns a store that sells charm crystals in Binondo. I was surprised to see Johnson, he looked young! When one says feng shui master, I imagine an older man with beard haha (yes, stereotyping).

Don’t let his age or looks fool you though. He has been learning feng shui since 2003 and has even gone to feng shui schools under grand masters Lilian Too and Raymond Lo in Malaysia and Hong Kong, respectively.
So back to the question, is today a lucky day? According to Johnson, today is merely a NEUTRAL day and even considered a danger day. Danger day means it is not advisable to hold a wedding, grand store opening, or engage in major activities.
The idea that 11-11-11 is lucky is from numerology and its beliefs are different from that of feng shui. For numerologists, today is a good day for prayer and meditation.
Johnson however showed us some crystals which could enhance our luck until the rest of 2011. Blue, white and yellow crystals are good. Blue represents peace, white for wealth, and yellow for stability.
White crystal, P3800. Yellow crystal, P6800.
He also warned of the fake crystals sold in the market. Below are two blue crystals that look alike but one of them is actually fake.
Left blue crystal is fake, right blue crystal is real
To know if the crystal you’re buying is real or not, check the weight and texture. The real crystal is heavier and has a rough texture, unlike the fake one which is light and smooth.
2011 is almost coming to an end so I think it’s more practical to buy crystals for next year’s luck. For 2012, red and yellow crystals will do the job.
If you believe in charms making a difference in your life, Binondo would definitely be a cheaper place to buy. But as I said, just make sure the charms you’re buying are real.
Here’s hoping that today still brings us luck and blessings. Happy weekend, everyone! 🙂
