I’ve attended tour groups wherein the guide takes me to different landmarks and explains its significance. It’s an educational experience indeed, but if you’re looking for an interactive urban experience in the footsteps of history, then Manila Who can satisfy that thirst.
Manila Who organizes story driven walks in Escolta St, known as the Queen of Manila Streets during its heyday. In the 50s, it was the place for the rich and famous, business tycoons, as well as film stars.
The 3-hour story-driven walk takes you through 6 iconic landmarks in and around Escolta. Guided by a narrative, inspired by historical events and characters.
I, along with Stanley of GMA News Online, played the mystery game. We had to discover the missing links of the story and master the challenges to complete the tour.
I was so impressed with how the details were true to its time set in the 50s. I didn’t get bored at all. In fact, I was so fascinated and invested with the story.
And oh, we were able to solve the mystery, too!
By the end of the tour, I got to immerse myself in Escolta and have a glimpse of how life was there before. And even up to now, Escolta still has its charm.
The Complete Escolta Experience is P1700/head which includes food and a kit. The Basic Escolta Experience is P800/head.
