It’s time to welcome Tokyo to Manila! Rootote, the famous Japanese brand iconic for multi-functional totes and backpacks, is now in the Philippines.
Located at The Block in SM North Edsa, Rootote formally opened its store last week with P500 discounts to the first few buyers, free customize hand painting on their new Roo by artists Joly Poa and Bea Araneta, and a meet and greet with Youtube Vlogger Michelle Dy.
As soon as I arrived at the store, I immediately asked the owners why it is called Rootote. They shared that the name actually comes from the animal kangaroo; since kangaroos have an inner pocket, so do all Rootote bags inside with the patented “roo pocket”. Cool, huh?!
Rootote is known in Japan for the innovation of a simple tote bag into a stylish and functional bag that fits an active lifestyle while highlighting Japanese street-style fashion. It also has stores in Taiwan, Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, and now in the Philippines.
Personally, I love how the Rootote bag is the perfect combination of form and functionality. I can carry my huge SLR camera, makeup kit, wallet, phone, powerbank in this stylish bag! It’s a great companion for travel, sports, casual-use, and other outdoor activities. It’s also water-repellent.

Seriously, what’s more to look for in a bag?! Got to go, time to get me another Rootote!
